Definitely no. I am paid by the supplier I book through. I try to find you the best deals out there, and the supplier has already set aside commissions for travel agents as a way of marketing. If you purchase through the supplier on your own, you are paying this cost anyway but the money goes back to the supplier.
No. A travel agent will usually disclose if there are additional fees, and for me, there are none.
No, not at all. These are just areas I specialize in. I can plan and book a wide range of vacations for you and your family.
Sometimes, yes. If flights are a part of a vacation package, then I will book those for you. If they are separate, I will help you find the flights that are best and cheapest for you to book on your own. Airlines no longer give out commissions, so travel agents were charging service fees for booking flights. I will not charge fees, and it is oftentimes best for you to find the flights that are easiest for you.
Travel agents offer a wealth of knowledge, because we've been there and done that. We just love planning vacations, even if it's not our own. For me, I love all things Disney, and planning Disney vacations has gotten really complicated for most families! I am happy to help, and Disney pays me to do it! Most often, there are perks involved that you wouldn't expect!
It's not absolutely needed for some cruise ships, but definitely recommended. If something should happen when the ship docks on an island -- and something will -- you need your passport to be treated and get back home. If you miss the ship, you need your passport. Otherwise, you can risk it and travel with your birth certificate and photo ID.
Today it's coral.
Ariel and Moana. Any friend of the ocean is a friend of mine.
